Right now, Republicans control the House, the Senate, and the White House. And instead of helping working families, they’re making life more expensive — all while refusing to work with Democrats to keep health care costs from skyrocketing.
When it comes to a government funding bill, it’s fundamental that we pass legislation that helps address the health care crisis Republicans created with their devastating Medicaid cuts and refusal to extend health insurance premium tax credits working families have relied on since 2021.
Here’s what you need to know: Republicans’ current funding proposal will result in additional costs for working families — to the tune of hundreds of dollars more per month. In fact, if you're an individual making $63,000 a year in Albuquerque, you could face an increase of nearly $900 per month as a result of Republicans’ Big, Bad Bill and their refusal to extend the Affordable Care Act Premium Enhanced Tax Credit. That is cruel, unacceptable, and unsustainable.
I believe that every New Mexican deserves affordable health care and economic security, which is why I’m fighting in the U.S. Senate to hold down health care costs for you and your family.
