The CNCS is the federal agency that works hand in hand with local partners to foster civic engagement through service and volunteering. The agency engages more than five million Americans in services through Senior Corps, AmeriCorps, and the Social Innovation Fund. Heinrich is the only sitting senator to have served in AmeriCorps. He is a proud member of the National Service Congressional Caucus, which works to expand service opportunities for all Americans.
