Heinrich Statement On Arrest Of Militant Leaders At Malheur National Wildlife Refuge

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) issued the following statement after law enforcement officials arrested militant leaders involved in the armed takeover of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon:

"I'm hopeful that this marks the end to the dangerous and illegal takeover of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. Violence is no way to resolve our differences. The people of Harney County deserve their community back. I urge the Department of Justice to use all of the resources at its disposal to safely restore the rule of law and bring those responsible to justice so that this never happens again."
