Dear Friend,
Last week, Senate Republicans on the U.S. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee took a bipartisan wildfire bill and made it a Trojan Horse to repeal the Roadless Rule. Now the legislation will go to the Senate Floor, completely bypassing public input – 99 percent of whom want the Roadless Rule to stay. The bottom line is: The Roadless Rule is under attack, and hunters, anglers, and recreators should be furious.
I won’t let Republicans Repeal the Roadless Rule without a fight.
I hope you’ll take a moment to read my op-ed in Outside News about how the Roadless Rule helps conserve our public lands and prevent wildfires – and how it represents years of input from Americans who have made it clear they want the Roadless Rule to stay in place.
Sincerely,
MARTIN HEINRICH
United States Senator
