Heinrich Visits New Mexico Tech Playas Training And Research Center, Promotes STEM Education

On Monday, February 21, U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) visited the New Mexico Tech Playas Research and Training Center to learn about how the facility is preparing New Mexico students for careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Projects at the Center cover an array of fields including virtual, solar, infrastructure resiliency, and defense technologies. As one of the few people in Congress with a background in science and engineering, Senator Heinrich has long fought for federal investments in STEM education to put New Mexico students on the path to become the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs.
