U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich meets with A. Eric Alvarez, the current Secretary to the Migratory Bird Conservation Commission, in his Washington, D.C. office.

Senator Heinrich serves on the Migratory Bird Conservation Commission, which was established in 1929 by the passage of the Migratory Bird Conservation Act. The Commission was created and authorized to consider and approve areas of land and/or water recommended by the Secretary of the Interior for purchase or rental by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, as well as establish new waterfowl refuges.
