  • Heinrich Visits Kirtland AFB, HH-60W Combat Rescue Helicopter Program »

    On Tuesday, April 6, 2021, Senator Heinrich visited Kirtland Air Force Base to see the first HH-60W Combat Rescue Helicopter (CRH) that the wing just received. Senator Heinrich contributed to efforts to save the CRH program in 2014, and secured $7.5 M in FY17 NDAA for the Wing’s CRH simulator.

      On Tuesday, April 6, 2021, Senator Heinrich visited with Myra Ghattas, owner of Slate Street Café and 66 Acres in Albuquerque. Myra has participated in both rounds of the PPP program and feels like the program has saved her business. Senator Heinrich helped secure a $28.6 billion Restaurant Revitalization Fund in the American Rescue Plan to help local restaurants keep their doors open and keep their workers employed.

          On Tuesday, April 6, 2021, Senator Heinrich joined Interior Secretary Deb Haaland, the All Pueblo Council of Governors, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, Senator Ben Ray Luján, and Representative Teresa Leger Fernández about the $31 billion secured in the American Rescue Plan to help Tribal nations recover and rebuild. This funding is the single largest dedicated infusion of resources to Indian Country in U.S. history.
