Heinrich Files Resolution of Disapproval Against RFK Jr.

Heinrich: “RFK Jr. should resign”

WASHINGTON — U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) joined 22 Senate Democrats to file a Resolution of Disapproval that states the Senate and the American people have zero confidence in Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. to serve as U.S. Secretary for Health and Human Services (HHS) and that he must resign or be fired.

“Secretary Kennedy is an anti-vaccine, anti-science snake oil salesman. He has no credibility in the medical community or with experts at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Health and Human Services. Secretary Kennedy is actively putting the health of our communities in danger, he never should have been nominated or confirmed for his position, and he needs to resign now, before he does even more harm,” said Heinrich.

The Resolution of Disapproval is led by U.S. Senator Angela Alsobrooks (D-Md.). Alongside Heinrich, the resolution is signed by U.S. Senators Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.), Chris Coons (D-Del.), Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.), Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.), Tim Kaine (D-Va.), Andy Kim (D-N.J.), Ed Markey (D-Mass.), Patty Murray (D-Wash.), Alex Padilla (D-Calif.), Jack Reed (D-R.I.), Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.), Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Tina Smith (D-Minn.), Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Mark Warner (D-Va.), Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.), Peter Welch (D-Vt.), and Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.).

The resolution is endorsed by Protect Our Care, Public Citizen, Reproductive Freedom For All, 314 Action, Accountable.us, American Federation of Teachers (AFT), and Defend Public Health.
