Heinrich, Senate Democratic Colleagues, Rewiring America To Announce New Plan For Widespread Electrification In U.S.

WASHINGTON - On Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 12 p.m. ET, in front of the U.S. Capitol, U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.), along with his Senate Democratic colleagues and leaders from Rewiring America, BlocPower, Moms Clean Air Force, and Evergreen Action, will announce a new plan that outlines how widespread electrification in the United States -- including electrifying households, buildings, and businesses -- will address climate change, put millions of Americans to work, and advance an equitable economy and strong labor standards.

Senator Heinrich's Electrifying America’s Future resolution, which will be introduced tomorrow, is cosponsored by U.S. Senators Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), Cory Booker (D-N.J.), Alex Padilla (D-Calif.), Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), Ed Markey (D-Mass.), Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), and Michael Bennet (D-Colo.).
