WASHINGTON — U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) issued the following statement after the Supreme Court reaffirmed the constitutional guarantee of birthright citizenship in Trump v. Barbara:
“Birthright citizenship isn't up for debate — it's enshrined in our Constitution. Today's decision reaffirms what has long been settled law: if you're born in the United States, you're an American citizen.”
