WASHINGTON — U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) released the following statement on the 2-year anniversary of the October 7th attack on Israel by Hamas:
“Two years ago today, Hamas carried out a brutal terrorist attack against the people of Israel — a day of horror that stole the lives of more than a thousand innocent men, women, and children. We continue to mourn every life lost that day and the tens of thousands of lives lost in Gaza over the two years since. Our thoughts remain with the hostages who still have not been released.
“The Israeli and Palestinian people deserve to live safely. And that requires the immediate delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, the release of all remaining hostages, an end to the displacement of Palestinian families, a long overdue ceasefire, and a unified commitment to a two-state solution.”
