Heinrich To Announce New Combat Rescue Helicopter Fleet At Kirtland Air Force Base

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, will be at Kirtland Air Force Base on Tuesday, May 31, at 2:30 p.m. to announce a new combat search and rescue helicopter fleet that will ultimately replace aging HH-60'Gs that were built in the 1980's. The 58th Special Operations Wing at KAFB is the premier training site for Air Force special operations and combat search and rescue aircrews, currently operating 14 HH-60'Gs and employing more than 2,570 airmen, civilians, and contractors.

Col. Dagvin Anderson, commander of the 58 SOW, will also be on hand to discuss the impact of the replacement program on his wing and its mission.
