Senator Heinrich and leaders from Rewiring America will highlight how electrification offers a pathway to economic relief for American consumers, resilience against volatile fossil fuel costs and long-term American energy independence.

recent analysis by Rewiring America shows that 41% of overall inflation is directly attributable to skyrocketing fossil fuel prices—and even more inflation is attributable to the secondary effects of high energy prices on other consumer goods. An estimated 103 million American families would save money every month on their energy bills from electrifying just their furnaces and water heaters. Total savings would be $37 billion per year.

Senator Heinrich is calling for Congress and the Biden administration to act on legislative and executive initiatives that will lower energy costs for working families.
