TOMORROW: Heinrich To Hold Virtual Press Conference Following Senate Vote On Bipartisan Safer Communities Act

WASHINGTON – Tomorrow, Friday, June 24, at 9:30 a.m. MT/ 11:30 a.m. ET, U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) will hold a virtual press conference following a Senate vote on the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. The legislation passed the Senate tonight by a vote of 65 to 33.

Senator Heinrich spoke on the Senate Floor today about the legislation. A video of his full remarks can be found here. Senator Heinrich is a member of the bipartisan group of senators of 10 Democrats and 10 Republicans that announced the legislation earlier this week. He played a key role in including language to stop illegal gun trafficking and define and increase penalties for straw purchasing.
