Heinrich Works To Advance Conservation Bills In Key Committee Hearing
U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) presides as acting Ranking Member of a Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources Subcommittee on Public Lands, Forests and Mining hearing. In his opening statement, Senator Heinrich discussed the importance of the bills to New Mexico’s public lands. The Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks Conservation Act would complete the community's vision for the permanent protection of wilderness opportunities within the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks (OMDP) National Monument and the Rio Puerco Watershed Management Program Reauthorization Act would permanently reauthorize the watershed management program and protect the quality of New Mexico’s water.
