Highlighting National Science Foundation Funding at UNM, April 19, 2017

U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich meets with scientists and researchers at the University of New Mexico (UNM) to highlight Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) programs and tour an environmental engineering lab that are recipients of National Science Foundation (NSF) funding. NSF has funded cutting-edge research programs at UNM including a recent $1.6 million award to train STEM students and workers for jobs in microsystems technology. Senator Heinrich has been working with community colleges and universities across the state to take concrete steps to build an education and training pipeline to prepare New Mexico students and workers for science and engineering jobs.
