Heinrich To Commemorate Veterans Day In Gallup

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) will commemorate Veterans Day in Gallup on Monday, November 11, 2013. In the morning, Senator Heinrich will join families and veterans for a memorial graveside service at Hillcrest Cemetery where there will be a short prayer, 21-gun salute, and laying of the wreath.

Later in the morning, Senator Heinrich will join Congressman Ben Ray Luján (N.M.-03) in the Gallup Veterans Day Parade. This year's entries include the Patriot Guard Riders, (a national motorcycle group that honors veterans, fallen soldiers, and first responders), Gallup area fire departments and schools, and the Lions Club.

In the afternoon, Senator Heinrich will speak at the Veterans Day Ceremony organized by Gallup's Veterans Helping Veterans to thank our former service members for their service and congratulate Gallup as the 2013 Rand McNally's Awardee for America's most patriotic small town.
