Heinrich To Join Live Discussion Hosted By Bloomberg On Electrification, Energy Transition

Senator Heinrich will lay out solutions to combat the climate crisis and bring economic investments and career opportunities to communities across America

WASHINGTON – On Thursday, July 15, at 12 p.m. ET/ 10 a.m. MT, U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.), a member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, will participate in Bloomberg Government’s virtual discussion, “The Energy Transition: Evolving Policies and Impacts.” He will be joined by U.S. Senator James Lankford (R-Okla.).

In a conversation, moderated by Bloomberg’s senior congressional reporter Kellie Lunney, Senator Heinrich will lay out his vision for the clean energy future and how legislation he is championing will bring economic certainty, growth and career opportunities in New Mexico, and across America.

Senator Heinrich is leading the charge on addressing multiple aspects of the clean energy transition. This includes the Schools and State Budgets Certainty Act that allows oil and gas producing states, counties, and Tribes time to transition their budgets to more sustainable and reliable sources of revenue.

Senator Heinrich introduced the Electrifying America’s Future Resolution to advance the vision of widespread electrification of appliances and machines in American homes and businesses. He will also be introducing the Zero-Emission Homes Act to provide rebates for the purchase and installation of electric appliances and equipment in single-family homes and multifamily buildings, with additional support for low- and moderate- income households.
