Housing Resource Guide

Dear Friend,

Stable housing is the foundation for economic security. No one should have to worry about having a roof over their head. So many renters and homeowners in New Mexico have faced immense economic uncertainty, especially over these past two challenging years.

The CARES Act and American Rescue Plan—two major COVID relief and economic recovery laws that I helped pass into law—included substantial resources to help provide affordable housing, emergency rental assistance, and critical services for unhoused New Mexicans.

I wanted to be sure to share with you a Housing Resource Guide that I have put together to provide an overview of all of these programs.

After two challenging years, the economy is growing faster than it has since 1984. The American Rescue Plan and the landmark Infrastructure Law are creating the foundation for an incredibly robust economic recovery. Despite this welcome progress, I fully recognize that many families in New Mexico are still struggling to make ends meet. We must do all we can to make sure every New Mexican has a safe and affordable place to call home.

My office also continues to help constituents on a one-on-one basis when they are having trouble with federal agencies, including keeping our promise to our veterans and service members so they can access their VA benefits, helping small business owners navigate economic relief programs, and assisting seniors with their Social Security benefits.

If you or your family needs help, I encourage you to contact my office nearest to you.

Sincerely,

MARTIN HEINRICH
