On Labor Day, Heinrich Recommits To Fighting For All Working Families

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) issued the following statement marking Labor Day:

"I'm proud that my father was a lineman and a member of the local International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers union.  Union wages paid for my college tuition and made my family solidly middle class.

"In the past year, workers have faced new setbacks to their wages, health care, and their right to organize. On this Labor Day, I recommit to fighting for all working families and standing up for the American ideal that if you are willing to work hard, you should be able to support your family and provide your children with a better future."
