READOUT: Heinrich Visits Albuquerque Crossroads For Women After Securing $1 Million In Federal Funding To Help Empower Women After Incarceration

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Today, U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) visited Albuquerque Crossroads for Women to discuss how $1 million he secured in new federal funding will go straight to housing, support, and resources to help women that have been incarcerated rebuild their lives.

Senator Heinrich secured $1 million in Congressionally Directed Spending in the Omnibus Appropriations Agreement for Fiscal Year 2022. The investment in this local organization helps women who have served time avoid addiction issues, get back to work, and find safe housing.

Senator Heinrich recently spoke with KOB’s Joy Wang to discuss his proactive approach to securing funding that reduces crime and increases public safety in New Mexico. Joy visited Albuquerque Crossroads for Women ahead of today’s visit. Her full story can found here

Key attendees from today’s visit:

  • Cory Lee, Executive Director, Albuquerque Crossroads for Women
  • Queva Hubbard, Board Member, Albuquerque Crossroads for Women
  • Robert Fontenot, Development Director, Albuquerque Crossroads for Women
