Heinrich To Speak At Memorial Day Ceremony In Farmington, Recognize First Responders In San Juan County

FARMINGTON, N.M. - On Monday, May 29, U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) will deliver remarks during a Memorial Day ceremony at Farmington’s Memory Gardens Cemetery. At the ceremony, Senator Heinrich will honor our nation's fallen heroes, veterans, and military families, and underscore New Mexico's proud tradition of answering the call of duty.

Earlier that morning, Senator Heinrich will visit the 6th annual Healing Field flag display in Farmington with local Blue Star mothers, veterans, and members of the San Juan Rotary Club. The event brings together the community to honor military personnel who have died in service to their country. Senator Heinrich is committed to ensuring our nation keeps its promises to our men and women in uniform and their families. He's led the effort to reduce the VA disability claims backlog and worked to improve access to health care.

Senator Heinrich will also visit the recently opened Center Point Fire Station #2 in San Juan County and will present the District Fire Chief Rodney Taylor with a Capitol flag. The Center Point station, staffed exclusively by volunteers, is the first fire station that has been built in 11 years and was built to serve a growing residential area.
