Heinrich To Launch Solar Toolkit With City, Community Leaders

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. –  Today, February 22, 2018 at 3 p.m. MT, U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.)  will be joined by Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller, Albuquerque City Councilor Pat Davis, CNM President Kathie Winograd and representatives from Sandia National Laboratories and environmental organizations to launch a Solar Toolkit to connect communities to resources and strategies to go solar. Senator Heinrich and community leaders will share success stories from around the state and highlight the potential of solar to create jobs and boost the economy.

Senator Heinrich has been a strong advocate for growing the renewable energy economy in New Mexico and has worked with local leaders across the state to secure grants and provide resources to develop solar. His efforts to secure multi-year extensions of production and investment tax credits have spurred major growth in the clean energy industry in New Mexico. Last year, Senator Heinrich worked with the City of Albuquerque to secure 25 million dollars in Clean Renewable Energy Bonds to install solar projects on city facilities.
